"Art is a leap into the darkness"
Dashu's style primarily uses a blue tone with a touch of metallic gold inspired by a Japanese technique called Kintsugi, also known as "golden joinery." This technique transforms seemingly worthless objects into something of value, based on the philosophy of Wabi Sabi – accepting the impermanence, imperfection, and transience of all things. The bright gold lines covering the cracks contain valuable lessons about life and how we can nurture our minds, bodies, and souls.
